Mind over Matter

We have all had this fight within ourselves, your mind is telling you no and your body is telling you yes or your mind is telling you yes and your body is telling you heck no. This is especially true during a workout. I don’t know that anyone particularly loves working out, for the most part we do it because we are trying to accomplish a goal or because we have to do what we have to do to be fit and healthy. This is where your motivation for being healthy comes into play. Without that motivation whatever part of you, be it mind or body, that is telling you no will surely win.

I recently started the Insanity Max 30 workout by Shaun T a Beachbody fitness instructor and oh my gosh it is the hardest workout I’ve ever done. I love Shaun T, him and Jillian Michaels are my favorite fitness coaches. Shaun T pushes you literally to your Max and at the end of the workout I am dripping with sweat. If you want to try a workout program that pushes you and rewards you with results you should definitely try the Insanity Max 30 workout. The workouts are only 30 minutes long which is perfect if you are limited on time like I am. There is also a Modified version of each workout in case it is a bit too intense for you. I completed Month 1 today and already feel and see the difference in my body.

Mind over matter sounds like a cliche but it is such a true statement. When I exercise and I start to get tired or feel that I can’t complete the workout, I tell myself that if I can just do one more push-up or one more power jump I can keep going. You have to dig deep within yourself and channel your motivation for doing this and the sense of accomplishment you feel when you complete a workout that you didn’t think you could is the best feeling in the world.

Just remember that you are in control of your body and you tell it what to do. You will be pleasantly surprised at what your body is capable of doing.

  1. Love 💕this post. What a true saying ‘mind over matter’. Even though I personally love and enjoy working out, sometimes I have days and I’m sure we all have days when we are in a funk and need extra push to train. I know to conquer this is by getting my mind right and just make it to the gym. Once I’m there, I can train with no issues. Thanks for sharing and motivating us.
